MCDONOUGH, GEORGIA (July 12, 2024) – Each summer, the Bennett Family of Companies partners with ReaLife Youth Camp in Marianna, Florida to put on Camp Bennett.
Camp Bennett is focused on leading and guiding each camper to a relationship with God through devotions, sermons and worship with an opportunity for baptism at the end of the week.
Marcia G. Taylor, Bennett Owner and CEO, created the Taylor Family Foundation which makes it possible to fully pay for up to 50 kids to experience Camp Bennett.
This year, John and Julie McGahee from Bennett’s Home Office and a Bennett DriveAway driver, Darrell Hykes, were able to attend camp as counselors who are passionate about their faith and leading younger generations.
Darrell’s hometown in Mississippi caught word of Camp Bennett and had many children interested in attending. The four campers that Darrell was originally going to send quickly turned into 14 bringing the total number of campers to 28.
Each of the children that came with Darrell to attend Camp Bennett have been through hardships including losing immediate family or having incarcerated parents. The difficulties thrown at these children won’t stop them from experiencing God at Camp Bennett.
Each camper is also able to enjoy fun-filled days including water activities, tug-of-war, various friendly competitions, archery, camp fires and much more throughout the week, allowing each camper to foster deeper friendships with one another.
“This camp has taught me a lot! Every night I’ve sat and cried because I think about all the tough times and how God is always here for me.”
Riley, Bennett Camper, Age 14
