Pilot FlyJ COVID-19 Update March 19

To our valued customers,

As our country continues to face COVID-19, the tenacity of the trucking industry continues to amaze all of us.

Below is Pilot Company’s afternoon update of our travel center operations.  Any changes from the previous day’s email will be highlighted for your quick reference.  If conditions warrant, additional updates will be sent.

Our network of over 780 travel centers in the United States and Canada are open and ready to serve your drivers, including laundry, restrooms and showers.

For updated information on our Covid-19 response, please visitwww.pilotflyingj.com/covid-response.

Fuel Supply Updates:

  • The Country’s fuel supply continues to be strong and Pilot Company’s logistics team is working hard to keep fuel supply levels high at all travel center locations in our network.

State mandated closures and limitations in place for social distance requirements.

  • Driver lounges are closed.
  • Gaming rooms in the following states are closed.
    • Illinois
    • Nevada
    • Louisiana

Food and Beverages Updates:

  • All deli pre-packaged food is available for drivers to purchase.
  • Self-serve food is closed; these are items like hot dogs; corn dogs; etc.
  • All dining rooms are closed, takeout from the counter is available.
  • Fresh Cup policy – If drivers would like to use their own mug, we are asking them to use a new cup to transfer their coffee or a fountain drink from the machine into their own mug. They will ONLY be charged the refill price.
  • Effective this evening at 11 pm EST, select restaurants in our network will close forovernight hours only.   Understanding the importance for professional drivers to have food options, during these hours, please note that these restaurant overnight closures are at travel centers locations that have an additional food choice for drivers, which will remain open.  For a detailed list of these locations, please contact your Pilot Flying J sales representative or visitwww.pilotflyingj.com/covid-response.

Pilot Flying J app:

  • Pilot Company is focused on sanitization of our fuel pumps and pin pads, we wanted to remind you of our mobile app features.  The app allows drivers to practice social distancing and healthy hygiene by using the mobile pay feature to reduce pin pad touches, reserve showers and receive notifications when their shower is ready.  For more information on our app, please visitpilotflyingj.com/app.

Pilot Company team members and guests health and safety:

  • Our guest and team members’ health and safety are always at the heart of everything we do at Pilot Company, but now more than ever, we are focused on making sure everyone in our locations is healthy.  We have implemented a policy that requires team members to report any illness or symptoms immediately to our travel center leadership.  To encourage self-reporting of illnesses, we have a implemented an emergency sick leave policy so that our team members do not need to worry about being paid as they recover from COVID-19.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Pilot Flying J Sales Representative.

Thank you again for all you and your drivers are doing to keep our economy and country strong.

Sincerely,
David Hughes

loren: Fuel Manager Services Inc. "Serving the trucking industry since 1992" I've been in and around the trucking industry for 45-years beginning in owner operator operations at Willis Shaw Express. I bought a small trucking company that I ran for 6-years then sold and went to work for J.B. Hunt Transport in 1982. After 10-years with Hunt, I started Fuel Manager Services, Inc., we are in our 29th year of serving the American trucking companies. Our simple goal was and is to bridge the gap between the trucking companies and the fuel suppliers.
