Oil futures edged higher on Tuesday, with U.S. prices posting their first gain in four sessions as a climb in the U.S. ISM manufacturing index in August lifted expectations for energy demand. West Texas Intermediate oil rose 15 cents, or nearly 0.4%, to settle at $42.76 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
