Worries over oil supply disruptions eased this week and traders focused on increasing production and the U.S.-China trade dispute.
Oil prices have fallen by almost 10 percent over the last week as crude export terminals in Libya have reopened.
China reported slightly slower growth for the second quarter and the weakest expansion in factory activity in June in two years.
