The oil market gave up early gains on Wednesday as a widespread economic slowdown weighed on energy prices.
A litany of poor economic data sapped Asian markets, but some optimism emerged as China and Japan said they would use fiscal spending to boost growth.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects shale output to rise further, but says production growth will slow in the coming years.
