Pilot Flying J COVID-19 Update
Mar 18th, 2020 by loren
To our valued customers,
Thank you and your drivers for your continued hard work and dedication. Your services are critical now as much or more than ever, and we are here to serve you and keep you moving.
The safety of our team members and guests remains our top priority as the COVID-19 public health situation continues to evolve.
- New – we have decided to temporarily close all driver lounges and dining rooms. Given current recommendations about social distancing and keeping six feet apart, this is a necessary step to limit the potential for exposure within our travel centers.
- All of our restrooms and showers will remain open in order to continue to serve drivers and are consistently cleaned.
Our COVID-19 task force continues to monitor current guidelines and recommendations, and we will continue to provide updates.
As a reminder, here are the additional precautions we already have taken:
Team Members
- Team Members are frequently washing their hands with soap and water. We also have hand sanitizer available for both team member and guest usage.
- Team members showing any symptoms of illness are required to stay home.
Fuel Supply
- We are currently not experiencing any fuel supply issues at this time.
Showers and Restrooms
- Our showers are open, and we are cleaning each shower after each use with degreaser, disinfectant and floor cleaner.
- We are continuing to frequently clean our restrooms and commonly used areas with disinfectant.
- Unless desired, Drivers do not need to bring their own towels for a shower. We are cleaning guest towels separately from service towels after each use.
Food and Beverages
- We are closing all self-serve food. Drivers can pick up food and take it back to their trucks.
- We have closed all dining rooms.
- We implemented a fresh cup policy for all refills on Friday, March 13, 2020. If guests would like to use their own mug, we’re asking them to use a new cup to transfer their coffee or a fountain drink from the machine into their own mug. They will be charged only the refill price.
Gaming Rooms
- Gaming rooms in Illinois and Louisiana have been closed. Other locations will be restricted to three participants at a time.
We appreciate your cooperation working with us to keep your team, drivers and all guests, as well as our team members, safe at this time. Together, we will continue to keep drivers on the road, deliver essential goods and supplies, support the economy and keep America moving.
If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We value your input and partnership, and we will continue to provide regular communication to you as well.
Sincerely,
David Hughes
