- Oil prices fell as much as 2 percent on Wednesday after government data showed a rise in U.S. crude stockpiles.
- The easing of geopolitical tensions that boosted crude futures earlier this week also removed some support in the market.
- Surging U.S. production, robust American crude exports and a stronger dollar also put pressure on the commodity.
