MCDONOUGH, GEORGIA (March 29, 2024) – The Bennett Family of Companies race teams took to the track last weekend continuing the 2024 race season with the TransAm Series at Road Atlanta and the Xfinity Series at Circuit of the Americas (COTA).
“Xfinity/TransAm is off to a great start. Xfinity started the season with back-to-back wins and the #21 is the only team to finish in the top 5 in every race so far this season. In TransAm, the #42 has also started the year with back-to-back wins in XGT. Off the track we’ve got a lot of good synergy with hosting some of our great customers through the VIP experiences. At select tracks, we are also hosting drivers along with safety meetings to emphasize safety being priority one at Bennett.”
Noah Foulks, Director of Motorsports, Bennett Family of Companies
What is unique about last weekend’s races is that both Danny Lowry and Austin Hill competed on road courses. Typically, TransAm drivers race on road courses while Xfinity drivers don’t often race on road courses, increasing the level of difficulty for Xfinity drivers.
Danny Lowry, Bennett BridgeHaul Driver in the TransAm Series, raced in Class XGT with the No. 42 Bennett Mercdes AMG GT3 starting in position one for the XGT class. Though a few difficulties arose such as a spin out coming out of turn 3, Danny pushed through and finished in first place with a time of 1:24.899 earning 70 points to his season total. Watch the recap of Danny’s Road Atlanta win here.
Austin Hill, Bennett’s Driver in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series, raced at Circuit of the Americas with his No. 21 Bennett Chevrolet starting in position 11. Toward the final laps of Saturday’s race, Austin Hill found himself battling it out in the top three. Though Austin did not take home the checkered flag, he secured 2nd place, earning 40 points to his season total. Watch more on Austin Hill’s first road race of the season here.
Tune into the remaining TransAm and NASCAR Xfinity races throughout this season!
