As the largest of fourteen operating companies within the Bennett Family of Companies, Bennett Motor Express began as a small intrastate trucking operation with 15 trucks and two customers. Our Vision Statement

We are the leading provider of innovative, integrated solutions, specializing in transportation, distribution and global services.

In 1974, J.D. Garrison and Marcia Taylor acquired George Bennett Truck Lines, a small intrastate carrier that was later renamed Bennett Motor Express. The company began as a flatbed carrier, but quickly grew to serve a growing customer base.

J.D. and Marcia purchased their first drop deck trailer in 1978. Before Marcia could make the first payment on the equipment, J.D. had made an appointment with Ford in Romeo, Michigan to haul tractors. This new service opened the door to the agricultural machinery transport business, which would become a major growth factor for the company.

In 1981, J.D. passed away, but he left a legacy of integrity and the highest quality of service. Now led by Marcia G. Taylor, the family-owned company would continue its expansion into markets, starting with a new name in 1985, and a new drop deck and haul away division in 1986. Through the years, Bennett Motor Express aggressively expanded its division to match its rapidly growing customer base.

Today, Bennett’s core service remains open deck transport. However, through the years, we’ve extended our divisions to provide our customers with seamless integrated transportation solutions.
