In Remembrance of Peggy Rathfon
On March 13, 2014 we lost a very dear member of the Bennett family. Peggy Rathfon, of Bennett Truck Transport – OTX terminal, passed away at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.
Born on March 13th, 1951, Peggy possessed a passion for paying it forward and did all that she could to help others. She stressed the highlights of being a blessing to someone and leaving a memory with a child. Her power of positive thinking and her smile were contagious. You would always hear her say “Thoughts are things”, “I have your back” & “let go and let God”. Peggy’s pastime was spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to the lake, camping, fishing, reading, but most of all shopping, and boy could she shop.
Peggy was a determined terminal manager of Bennett Truck Transport for over 15 years, and was in the trucking business for over 30 years. She received multiple awards for her dedication and hard work. Her drivers were her family and would do anything for any of them. She was involved with each of them and their families on a personal level.
Peggy was a mother to everyone she met. Her children’s friends’ were her kids, and her grandchildren’s friends’ were her grandkids. Everyone called her Mom or Nana. Peggy was the most caring person and all who knew her were a blessing to her. We are all blessed to have had the opportunity to have such a wonderful Matriarch.
