“With over nine million pounds of freight, this BRAC project is one of the largest in the nation, and it will require a full-array of integrated supply chain competencies, capabilities and resources to provide the OMEMS with seamless and uninterrupted class schedules,” said Charles Phillips, Vice President, Bennett International Logistics. “We’ve assembled a team of “best in class” companies to include heavy and specialized transporters, office and industrial movers, and riggers to ensure the OMEMS training missions are met as planned.”
The Redstone Arsenal OMEMS project is among the largest BRAC contracts the SDDC has awarded to Bennett for completion by September 2011. Bennett recently served as the prime contractor to relocate the Naval Aerospace Research Medical Laboratory from Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
Bennett Motor Express will provide most of the heavy and specialized freight transportation for the OMEMS move including flatbed, step deck, and multi-axle trailers for heavy and over-dimensional freight.
“Bennett has pulled together an experienced team of contractors to make sure we deliver the highest quality of service,” said Bennett Motor Express President David Lowry. “We’re honored that the SDDC has the confidence that BME can deliver the capacity and equipment for such a diverse move.”
Other project team members include Armstrong Relocation and Companies, an Agency of United Van Lines, Office Movers also known as The Kane Company, Southwestern Industrial Contractors and Riggers, and Acuff International.
