Bennett Proudly Sponsors Mission Trip to Haiti

April 30, 2012

Bennett International Group, LLC. is more than just a transportation company. At the very core of Bennett lies the hearts of many who are willing and able to change the world.  From the esteemed Marcia G. Taylor Women’s Center at Piedmont Henry Hospital in McDonough, GA, to the recently established Taylor Foundation, the family-based company proactively supports causes that impact the communities it serves.

“We are a family-owned, faith based company with a community focus,” Bennett Owner and CEO, Marcia G. Taylor has said.  Taylor, along with other company employees, and contractors recently showed their commitment to the global community by helping fund 17-year old student Chase Collum’s two-month mission trip to Haiti. Bennett employee Chip Collum encouraged his son Chase to ask the company for financial support for the missionary trip.

Bennett’s employees and contractors provided financial support to help the Eagles Landing High School student travel to the hurricane-ravaged country, as part of a two-month missionary trip with other members of the Stockbridge Community Church.

Eagles Landing High School student Chase Collum meets with young Haiti orphans during a missionary trip to the hurricane-ravaged country. Bennett International Group employees and contractors recently held a fundraiser to sponsor the 17-year old’s efforts to aid Haitian residents.

“Bennett’s family of employees and contractors stepped up to support Chase in achieving something that will have an impact on lives for years to come,” said Collum, a 15 year employee with Bennett’s Government Services freight division.  “The entire trip would not have possible without their support.”

Since arriving in Haiti, Chase has worked beside other Stockbridge Community Church members to make a difference by aiding medical clinics, visiting local orphanages, and providing toys and hygiene products to local residents.

“My intentions were to travel to Haiti to bless the Haitians, but they ended up blessing us in so many more ways,” said Chase. “The entire experience was truly a blessing. “Despite poverty, hunger, and wreckage, the beauty of Haiti is unmatched. The people here are very resilient and have a strong faith in God.”
